INAUGURAL HUKA LODGE FLY FISHING TOURNAMENT HEADLINES 2019 EVENTS PROGRAMME

From a high-octane motorsport challenge to an inaugural fly fishing tournament and extravagant epicurean delights, New Zealand’s Huka Lodge has curated an exciting and immersive programme of guest events this winter.

Legendary for its elegance and generous hospitality, the award-winning Huka Lodge is regarded as one of the world’s top luxury lodges, delivering a curated collection of exhilarating and exciting experiences for guests.

Key dates:

Formula Challenge in Style

The temperature may have cooled but the action will heat up with the return of a series of unforgettable high-speed, adrenalin-fuelled motorsport experiences. Guests can hit the track at Taupo’s custom-built Bruce McLaren Motorsport Park and put a race-ready V8 car through its paces for eight laps.

Or they can get behind the wheel of a single-seater race car and live out their Formula 1 or Indy Car dreams at New Zealand’s only Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile Grade 2-rated motorsport circuit. Top off the ultimate track experience and jump into the passenger seat of the only 2019 Aston Martin Vantage GT4 race car in the country for a ‘hot lap’.

The full range of Aston Martin 2019 models, including Vantage, DB11 and DBS Superleggera, will await guests on their return to the Lodge, available to test drive in the surrounding natural beauty of New Zealand’s North Island. At night, the pace changes with a specially presented Gin and Tonic Clinic and stunning five-course gourmet dinner, created by Executive Chef, Paul Froggatt.

Package starts from NZ$1,500.00 per person, per night, in a Junior Lodge Suite, minimum two guests, including all activities as listed.

Big Red Dinner with FROMM Winery

This year’s Big Red Dinner will be hosted by Stephan Walliser, General Manager, of the famed FROMM Winery, Blenheim. The small, boutique winery produces distinctive, intensely-flavoured and classically-styled wines inspired by European viticulture. With a philosophy for old world wine making with new world innovation, FROMM has established an international reputation for the quality of their wines and has undoubtedly set new standards with their exceptional, big red wines – in particular for Pinot Noir.

During the dinner guests will experience exceptional FROMM wines expertly paired to five exquisite dishes presented by Huka Lodge Executive Chef, Paul Froggatt.

Provided complimentary for guests staying this weekend – rates from NZ$890.00 + GST per person, per night, for a Junior Lodge Suite, on a double/twin occupancy basis.
